Georgia-Russia Conflict

For anyone that has watched the news in the past week, at least knows about the recent conflict between Georgia and Russia. I unfortunately wasn't able to post about the conflict until now.

This was probably the most difficult conflict for me to read about - simply because the propaganda on both sides were so strong. Both still insist the other side committed genocide, intentionally killed hundreds/thousands of civilians and many other claims...oh yeah, almost forgot ethnic cleansing.

Once the dust somewhat settled, some facts were found out:

  • Technically Georgia started the War. South Ossetia, some elements, fired upon Georgia which sparked the Georgian invasion of South Ossetia. (ironic, invading your own country...)
  • The 2000 killed by Georgia in South Ossetia, accused by Russia, was discounted by Human Rights Watch, citing hospital sources at about 44 dead and 273 wounded.
  • After the initial cease-fire was declared, Russia advanced further into Georgia.
  • There have been incidents involving South Ossetia, Russia and Georgian troops actually firing at Journalists. Angry Georgian troops started pointing and firing a pistol at Journalists (video shown on FOX News), a now famous youtube video of a Russian sniper shooting at a Journalist and another video of two Turkish journalists in a car being caught in the cross-fire, one was shot in the head. (but is somehow okay)

In the end of this...well there isn't an end in sight. Russia has no intent of letting Georgia EVER get back South Oessetia or Abkhazia. Whereas Georgia (as well as it's citizens) intend to get both back someday. If there's good news, it could be if UN troops take over "peacekeeping" duties from Russia, this will at least delay the inevitable.

Maybe the worst part of this, aside from the negatives of war, is the long-term relations hit this will have on the US and Russia. What's more is that it has now peaked a big question in the minds of analysts and normal everyday person - does this now mean Russia will take action against other countries that were once under USSR control?

Gone, but back

When I don't update anything for more than a day it seems like I almost have to explain, even if it's not a post it's improving a website layout or doing something. This time I was helping my dad move. I was out in Indiana from Wednesday afternoon until Saturday, got back at 12:30.

A two bedroom apartment (one used for storage) and everything barely fit into a massive 24 foot truck. If you don't know much about moving trucks, a 10-12 foot truck is okay for a simple 1 bedroom apartment. Although I think riding in a truck is kind of fun, it feels like a bus because of it requiring Diesel fuel and requiring wide right turns.

Anyways, I'll be working to release OneCMS, hopefully by the 15th as well as the AdaptCMS Lite Beta will be, definitely, out this upcoming week.

Well normally I would of posted this in the same as the other post made today, but I just learned of it. After being in-between the system with later years in high school I had to go for my GED. This past summer I got a job at Kroger and they weren't exactly full, another words I got a lot of hours and finally quit so I could concentrate on the GED.

Long story short I studied, as previously posted took the GED last week and just to see if I could get into the site, due to problems the other day, I found out I passed the GED! Talk about a relief.

Getting ready for Christmas

Most people would agree that Christmas is their favorite time of the year and it is, without a doubt, mine too. But the fun part is of course getting ready for it.

Without going into details, this will probably be the nicest Christmas I've had in years and I'm very much looking forward to it. I just got up the tree (a 4 footer) and decorated it with ornaments along with lights on the tree and on the balcony, I'll take pics and post them here once I can find my camera USB cord.

Of course now I have to get presents...my dad (very tough), my mom, going to get something for my grandmother (a mystery book) and then a present from my mom and myself to a family friend and then one for my best friend, Andrew.

GED, Sites - Update

As posted on IV, I finally went for my GED and should know the results this upcoming week. I also started yet another site, Bengals Chatter. Basically just a blog on the happenings of the Cincinnati Bengals, nothing super special. :p

Work on AdaptCMS continues, I'm really looking forward to releasing the Lite and Pro version. The original version has not done that well, unfortunately and I think that the script is a very useful tool with web developers, Lite and Pro will help a lot to show off AdaptCMS to many more people.

Pretty much it. I'll be doing a tutorial and will be kicking off a beta for AdaptCMS Lite hopefully in the coming week or two. I'm still trying to sell XBOX360Universe, awaiting payment from an interested person, may try and sell another site or two to cut down the # of projects so I can possibly make a new script. :) That's all for now.
