Getting ready for Christmas - Random :: Charlie Page
Getting ready for Christmas
Posted: Dec 04, 2007 - 7:31 pm - 205 views

Most people would agree that Christmas is their favorite time of the year and it is, without a doubt, mine too. But the fun part is of course getting ready for it.

Without going into details, this will probably be the nicest Christmas I've had in years and I'm very much looking forward to it. I just got up the tree (a 4 footer) and decorated it with ornaments along with lights on the tree and on the balcony, I'll take pics and post them here once I can find my camera USB cord.

Of course now I have to get presents...my dad (very tough), my mom, going to get something for my grandmother (a mystery book) and then a present from my mom and myself to a family friend and then one for my best friend, Andrew.

Continued...

Ironically of all the Christmas things the hardest thing (aside from trying to not miss the sunny days of Summer, I hate summer temperatures, but gray days are depressing :p ) this year has been actually thinking of what to ask for Christmas. When my Dad asked I drew up blanks and eventually thought of a gift card for best buy, steve & barry's and this golf putting thing.

Normally I could think of a few video games, a few computer things I'd love to have and other things, as with most kids it was too many things I wanted rather than not knowing what I would want, I could name a hundred things before I could be stumped.

But for the first year, I really have no clue. I guess it's a changing from teenager to adult? I don't know. I have an XBOX 360, Digital Camera, Cellphone, Dad is giving me his old 27" TV and Laptop. Of course there are things I WANT, but I suppose nothing within reason, money wise. If I had to name three things I would want for myself it would probably go:

  1. Futon Bed (futon mattress ATM, want a new futon bed)
  2. Car (yeah, someday...;) )
  3. Server (ok more for the hell of it then anything else, always wanted one)

Of course none of those things are reasonable for Christmas gifts aside from maybe the futon bed as like my ONE Christmas gift from all family (all pitch in), maybe the MP3 is reasonable too depending on the brand. I guess you get less needy and less interested in wanting the flashy new things and wanting cooler things than your friends.

But irregardless I am really looking forward to it, especially too since I can actually buy people gifts with my OWN money. It's nice.
