The "Monthly Recap" is a monthly post that looks at my projects and websites to see how they are doing. Statistics is a major part, however other things such as new users, number of articles and other things are also factors. I'm a bit delayed on July 2008, but here it is:
Insane Visions
A bit of a down month in July. The CMS and awstats say uniques were down a little bit, 11% according to adaptcms, but this was after 2 record-breaking months. Analytics says it was a bit up.
I was hoping to do 2 tutorials in July, but only got 1 up. A total of 6 articles, again, with 1 tutorial and 1 blog. Mixed
AdaptCMS
Ah, finally a very good month for adaptcms.com. After the release of 1.2 showed little stats difference from any other month, July proved otherwise with AdaptCMS 1.3 being released.
Both Awstats and the CMS reported significant growth (especially the cms stats, 35%). Analytics also said a small uppage of stats.
I expect it to go down in August with 1.4 being worked on, but once opensourcecms.com can list it, it will definitely help. (whenever that is, I've submitted adaptcms twice) Up Political Yard
After an up-month, Political Yard has a mixed one. Analytics is very unreliable anymore for, especially for PY. The difference in stats is extremely large.
The CMS said it was down, Awstats says it was the best month of the year! Who knows.
Cron ran for most of the month, cleaning up old articles and the layout was improved with page speed times cut in half. Expect to see the site worked on even more in August. Mixed
Dynasty Wizard
Another website with mixed results. On the stats side, traffic went down a little bit, a few hundred uniques down from June.
Content wise, DW did very well. At least 10 new user signups and at least 10 new dynasties, even a bit of forum activity. Mixed
PHP CMS Reviews
PCR had it's 3 month birthday  and had it's best month so far, by far.
Both AdaptCMS and Awstats reports a huge increase in stats, the cms saying a 71% increase, awstats something similar.
I'll be adding more CMS's and a review or two, which should help even more. WAY up
GTA IV Universe
Unfortunately another down month for the GTA IV website. The drop down in stats, at least, was not as big of a margin drop as the past few months. Also I think the drop is over, or at least will slow down.
In July there were 3 articles posted and one already in August. (GTA IV PC announced, traffic may go up in August) Down
24 Quotes
A good month for 24 Quotes. Analytics says up by a good margin, Awstats says basically the same but still the 2nd best month of the year. (behind january) AdaptCMS says stats are up by a good margin (29%).
24 news has been quite slow lately, so if traffic goes back down in August, I won't be surprised. Up
Bengals Chatter
Tough to determine. CMS says down a bit (1%), Awstats says the best month of the year and Analytics says stats are up.
Just 2 articles posted, but both the amount of articles and stats should go up in august, finally football season! Mixed
Charlie Page
Unfortunately a down month for the website you are now at. All 3 stats programs report stats are down, awstats and adaptcms say by significant margins.
Just 3 blogs were posted in July, I want to maybe double that in August. Down
Others
There are other websites, but too small and/or no-little work has been done on them. AdaptBB went down, surprisingly to me with the development of the script starting, but with the launch of the new website stats should go up a lot in August. Iraq Research did okay in July, but the website will probably end up dying.
Income
Adsense rebounded, growing a bit from June. I also, finally got my $100 check from google. (it takes over a month for verification crap, only for it to almost instantly deposit the money in? what a waste of time) August will likely be down. Up |
